Sono Oro is a tile born from fire. Designed by plonc., its surface translates the scarred, layered textures of Australian gum trees after bushfire into large-format porcelain relief. Fractured lines and deep fissures recall charred bark under tension, while warm earth and beige passages suggest the protected inner body of the trunk — the part that survives.
This is not a reproduction of texture. It is a transcription of a specific Australian experience: the landscape altered by heat, yet persisting. Resinous glints within the surface catch light unexpectedly. Ashen greys and deep charcoal tones ground the palette alongside warmer earth and cream fields.
Sono Oro suits spaces that are meant to feel considered and distinctive — bathrooms where drama is welcome, feature walls in living areas, and commercial interiors where authentic Australian material is part of the design brief. It pairs naturally with raw timber, aged copper, and concrete.
